Description
LalBrew® House Ale™ is a high‑quality dry yeast designed for demanding homebrewers. It offers fast fermentation, a neutral aromatic profile, and strong tolerance to challenging brewing conditions.
Highly versatile and more resilient than most other strains on the market, it is ideal for styles such as IPAs, blondes, stouts, and pale ales. It produces clean, well‑attenuated beers.
Developed by Escarpment Labs and produced by Lallemand, House Ale™ is a Saccharomyces cerevisiae strain known for its fermentation speed (often finished in 3 to 4 days at 20 °C for a gravity of 1.048 (12°P)), its ability to clean up off‑flavors (diacetyl, acetaldehyde), and its ease of use in homebrewing.
It can be pitched directly into the wort without rehydration, simplifying the process while ensuring a steady fermentation. Its neutral profile lets hops and malts shine, and its medium flocculation results in a clear beer (even more so with a few days of cold crash).
Characteristics:
- Attenuation: 78%–86%
- Flocculation: Medium
- Ideal temperature range: 16 °C–22 °C
- Alcohol tolerance: 14%
- Pitching rate: 50/100g/hl
As this strain is very recent, no substitutes are currently available. Although its flavor profile sits between Bry‑97 and Nottingham, it offers improved stress tolerance and optimized fermentation performance compared to these strains.
