Brew our Ordinary Bitter recipe
Autumn Collection - "Gentleman"
This recipe is openly inspired by the superb Ordinary Bitter from the English brewery Anspach & Hobday. The Maris Otter brings its delicious biscuity aromas that blend perfectly with the caramelized touches of crystal malts. The proteins from the flaked barley provide a nice texture and an ideal foam, even with low carbonation. Finally, the corn adds a lovely clarity.
The interesting twist of this recipe lies in the use of Chinook in the flameout. Its resinous notes blend wonderfully with the herbal aromas of East Kent Goldings and also enhance the caramelized flavors of the malts. Finally, the use of an American yeast rather than an English one brings a nice crispness to the beer.
The result is a very pleasant revisited bitter, with a nice character for its 3.7%!
The pack includes the hops, malt, and yeast necessary to make a 20L brew.
