Callista Hops:

callista hops

The Callista hop is an aromatic variety originating from Germany. It was developed by the Hop Research Center in HĂĽll, Germany less than 10 years ago. It is the result of a cross between the Hallertau Tradition hop and a Huell Melon male.

The Callista hop provides a mild bitterness and aromas of strawberry, pear, caramel, orange, and passion fruit. Used in Dry Hop, it will mainly bring intense fruit notes such as passion, apricot, peach, and blackberry. This makes it one of the most aromatic German hops.

At the end of boiling or in Whirlpool, it will integrate very well into the less hoppy styles as it will give an original aromatic twist.

This hop is mainly used for lagers, kolsh, and India pale lagers. It is also often chosen for hoppy ales and IPAs.
