Description
The Malt Café is a lightly roasted malt (400-650 EBC), obtained after a classic malting process and then subjected to specific roasting in a roasting column. This moderate roasting imparts a rich and harmonious aromatic profile.
This malt reveals delicate aromas of coffee and cocoa, complemented by a touch of caramel, a biscuity character, and a subtle hint of roasted hazelnut. It also contributes to a slight coloration, bringing warm brown tones.
Perfect for dark English ales, this malt also fits into any type of beer where roasted flavors – particularly coffee notes – are desired, or where you want to enhance the maltiness and color profile of the recipe.
Recommended usage: generally up to 10%.
