Brew our Barley Wine "Queen Liz" recipe:
In this Barley Wine recipe, you will find a beautiful roundness, complex aromas of cereals, caramelized biscuit, and toffee, complemented by a slight herbal touch and notes of dried fruits (raisin, apricot, pear). All of this is wrapped in a gentle alcoholic warmth, but not aggressive, making it a perfect winter beer. By aging it for a few years, a slight Madeira-like character will develop, adding even more pleasant complexity to the beer.
The pack includes the malt, hops, and yeast necessary for the recipe, for a 16-liter brew*.
*This recipe requires a lot of water as it needs a minimum of 2 hours of boiling. To accommodate most brewing vessels, we decided to offer a quantity of 16L instead of our usual 20L.
Single-step mashing
Please note: we can't offer retail hops, so you'll have to weigh out the doses indicated in the recipe yourself. You can store the remainder in the freezer.
