Magnum hops are used primarily as a bittering agent. It produces a clean, crisp bitterness and subtle citrus flavors.

Originally from Germany, Magnum was introduced in the 1980s and is now often considered the most suitable for Pale Ales and Lagers where a clean bitterness is desired.

It is the result of a cross between Galena and an unnamed German male variety.
