Golden Naked Oats (GNO) is a naked oat malt (huskless) that has been crystallised during the malting process. Unlike standard rolled oats, this specialty malt provides a unique depth of flavour and a sweet complexity. It is the ingredient of choice for brewers looking to round out their beer’s profile while improving mouthfeel without adding the astringency associated with grain husks.

Rolling Beers Tips

• Watch your lautering: Oats can compact the grain bed. For usage above 10%, we recommend adding rice hulls to ease extraction.
• Milling: As this grain is smaller and huskless, adjust your roller gap or mix it thoroughly with other malts before milling.
• Preferred styles: Essential for Hazy IPAs and Oatmeal Stouts to achieve a stable hazy appearance and a creamy head.
