Description
Vienna malt stands out due to its specific kilning, which imparts rich and deep malty aromas to the beer. It allows for the creation of golden recipes with a strong malt-forward profile. Its sweet flavors evoke honey, almond, and hazelnut, and it also adds a lovely roundness to the body of the beer, making it an ideal ingredient for full-bodied ales and lagers.
This malt, with a color range between 6 and 9 EBC, can be used up to 100% in a recipe. It is equally effective as a supporting element in a recipe with a substantial malt base or as a standalone malt, particularly for Vienna Lager-style beers. Its versatility makes it an essential asset for enhancing malt and honey flavors, especially when combined with standard Pilsen malt.
Although its diastatic power is sufficient for solo use, it is often preferred in combination to enrich the malty character while boosting notes of sweetness and depth. This malt is therefore an indispensable ally in recipes that showcase the richness of malt.
