Description
Caramel 250 malt is a fairly intense aromatic malt. Its advanced caramelization, combined with a color ranging from 230 to 270 EBC, gives it a deep brown hue and a range of rich and complex flavors.
It features pronounced notes of brown caramel, bread crust, raisins, and dried fruits, subtly accompanied by a hint of roasted hazelnut and sweet malt. It also delivers a marked caramel flavor and a slight toasted bread nuance, adding a delightful aromatic complexity.
This malt naturally fits into robust recipes such as Doppelbock, Eisbock, or Quadrupel, where its usage can go up to 10%.
In very small proportions, it can also be used as a "spice malt" to bring a caramelized touch and aromatic complexity to lighter beers, such as Ordinary Bitters or Irish Red Ales.
Beyond its aromatic qualities, Caramel 250 also contributes to creating a smooth and rounded texture, perfect for beers that are both rich and well-balanced.
