Aframomum melegueta
Grains of paradise, from West Africa and also known as Maniquette pepper, are a member of the ginger family. They have a hot, peppery flavour with citrusy notes. Used in intense dark beers, and often also in Christmas beers. They can be used either whole or crushed.
