Description
The relatively intense roasting of Munich Malt type 1 gives it a beautiful golden color (12 to 18 EBC) and pronounced malt aromas. Despite this degree of roasting, it remains a base malt that can be used up to 100%.
Its aromatic profile presents a rich malty side with notes of blonde caramel, honey, and bread. Just like its cousin Vienna, Munich Malt type 1 can be a wonderful malt flavor asset in a recipe composed of several malts. Dark beers, malt-forward lagers, and even saisons (in small percentages) can benefit from the aromatic palette of Munich Malt, with the potential to make many recipes shine.
