Description
Caramel Pilsner malt is a very light caramel malt that brings a beautiful golden hue (20 to 30 EBC) to your blonde beers. It is characterized by its soft and balanced aromas, creamy foam, slightly sweet malty flavor, and delicate notes of caramel and biscuit. This malt also enhances the beer's smoothness while maintaining a subtle taste of cereals and seeds.
Equivalent to Carahell® malt, it offers similar characteristics while standing out from darker caramel malts due to its low degree of caramelization. It is worth noting that it should not be confused with Carapils® from Weyermann, which has a distinct profile. Thanks to its sweetness and lightness, Caramel Pilsner malt can be used at relatively high rates, between 10 and 30%, to enhance the flavor and color of light beers, such as spiced blonde ales or other styles requiring a subtle touch of malty character.
