Description
SORBASOL is a preservative whose antifungal properties inhibit the growth of wild yeasts. It is used during cold conditioning or just before bottling.
Its formulation based on Potassium Sorbate (E202) helps preserve the beer’s organoleptic qualities, supports CO₂ retention (limits gushing, especially due to Brettanomyces), and has no negative impact on flavor.

Usage and Recommended Dosage:
Dissolve SORBASOL in deoxygenated water (1:10). Add from the conditioning tank to the filtered beer tank before bottling.
- - Preventive dosage: 1.5 to 2g/hL
- - Curative dosage: 5–20g/hL of beer depending on yeast population (cells/mL)
Note: SORBASOL does not act on bacterial presence: sorbic acid is easily degraded by bacteria and may produce characteristic “geranium” flavors. For this reason, it is recommended to use the lysozyme LACTICIDE in cases of combined bacterial and yeast presence.
