Description

Are you looking to optimize the yield and volume of your brews without the worry of excessive boiling (and the foam overflow that comes with it) or excess Krausen on the walls of your fermenter?

Discover what Foamsol™ can do for you.

Foamsol™ is a thermostable silicone-based antifoam designed to effectively manage foam production throughout the brewing process.

Added directly during boiling, in the whirlpool, or in the fermenter during wort transfer. This easy-to-use solution works efficiently at addition rates as low as 0.5-10ml/hl. Diluting Foamsol before addition will aid dispersion and increase its effectiveness.

The principle of Foamsol™:

Foamsol™ prevents large foam rises in wort during production or early fermentation.

During vigorous boiling, significant foam rises can occur and overflow from your brewing vessel. In primary fermentation, excessive krausen production can adhere to the walls of your fermenter, making the cleaning process difficult.

This foam/krausen, beyond the wasted volume, will lead to a significant loss of proteins and alpha acids that favor foam retention and bitterness balance in the finished product. By using Foamsol™, you can increase your fill volume by up to 20% and reduce alpha acid loss by 15%.

Foamsol™ is effectively eliminated by adhering to the yeast cell wall, so it will have no negative impact on the aroma or foam stability of the finished beer.

Additionally, due to the low addition rate compared to yeast growth during fermentation, repitching will not be a problem.

Not only does Foamsol™ improve hop utilization (by preserving AAs) and beer foam quality, but it also contributes to cost savings by minimizing cleaning efforts. By keeping foam confined in the fermenter, you avoid spills and reduce the need for intensive cleaning.

Foamsol™ offers a simple and economical approach to improving the efficiency and productivity of your brewing. Keep your foam where it belongs, in the fermenter, not on the floor.

Advantages:

  • Increased fill capacity in the brewing vessel and fermenter
  • Improved hop utilization and preservation of foam-positive proteins in the finished product
  • Reduced cleaning costs
  • Reduced foam in CIP sets

Why use Foamsol?

Foamsol helps preserve foam in the wort and reduces its production during brewing and fermentation. This non-lost volume allows you to increase your usual brewing volume by 20%.

Foamsol also improves the potential for foam production (and retention) in the finished product and optimizes hop utilization by maximizing the retention of 15% alpha acid (lost in the normal brewing process). This means using less bittering hops in the end.

How to use Foamsol?

Add at the end of the boil, in the whirlpool, or directly in the fermenter. Dilute the dose in 10 times its volume of water to increase efficiency.

For dosing, use 2 to 10 ml/hl in the brewing vessel or 0.5 to 5 ml/hl in the fermenter. If you use cross flow filtration technology, dose below 2 ml/hl.

Store Foamsol at room temperature, do not freeze.
