Like standard pilsner malt, Barke® Malt Pilsner is an excellent base malt for any style of beer. The difference lies in the variety of barley used. The Barke® specialty gives this pilsner a more assertive character, representing the purest expression of German brewing terroir. Barke® Pils malt brings underlying caramel notes and a soft mouthfeel. It is perfect for German lagers such as Festbier or Munchen Helles.

Barke® barley is a specifically German variety produced by local farmers for Weyermann®. The characteristics of "Barke®" malts are the pure expression of German terroir. The malty aromas are more pronounced than with a classic barley variety. With Barke® malts, you can go for a more authentic character in your German beers.
