Power and balance in an 8-liter format This demanding recipe relies on premium malts and specific fermentation to reach high gravity while maintaining great drinkability. It is the perfect refill for brewers looking to level up their technical skills and enjoy an exceptional beer.

Beer Profile:

  • Style: Belgian Tripel (Strong Golden Ale).

  • Volume: 8 Liters.

  • Alcohol: approx. 8.0% ABV.

  • Refill Content: Crushed malt mix (barley (gluten)), hops, specific top-fermentation yeast (Belgian strain).

What you will need to provide:

In addition to your standard equipment, you will need at least a 10L pot (to handle the boiling of a dense wort), 24 bottle caps, and your empty bottles.

Ingredient Storage:

The Belgian yeast is the heart of this recipe. Store it in the refrigerator upon receipt, along with the hops. Malt should be kept in a dry place.

Expert Tips:

Patience is a virtue: A Triple often requires a longer maturation period. After bottling, wait at least 4 to 6 weeks before tasting to allow the flavors to balance and the alcohol heat to mellow.

Temperature Management: Start fermentation around 19°C (66°F) and let it rise naturally toward 22-23°C (72-73°F) at the end of the process to encourage the development of fruity esters.

Flash FAQ:

  • Where are the instructions? They are available for download on this page (documents tab).

  • Is it harder than a Blonde ale? The process is similar, but fermentation management is more critical due to the high alcohol content.
