Description
The Brewferm Cobra is a complete pen-style pH meter with an unbeatable price–quality ratio. The liquid temperature can be read to 0.1 °C and the pH to 0.01. In addition, the pH meter is waterproof (IP65), allowing you to rinse it easily under the tap. Thanks to its pen shape, the pH meter is perfectly suited for use in narrow containers.
Using a pH meter allows you to better control the quality of your beer.
By monitoring the acidity or pH of your mash and adjusting it if necessary, you can actively increase your efficiency. A correct pH value during mashing ensures optimal enzyme activity for the saccharification of your wort.
A proper pH also ensures good protein flocculation and the extraction of desirable bitter compounds from the hops during the boil. In short, the right pH value helps you produce better beer!

Maintaining a pH meter
The pH meter is a precision instrument. Proper use and maintenance are essential to ensure long‑lasting performance. Here are several important points:
- - Before taking a measurement, the pH meter must be calibrated using buffer solutions. If your device can only be calibrated at one point, use the buffer solution closest to your usual measurement range.
- - Avoid contaminating the buffer solution. Never insert the electrode directly into the bottle; pour a small amount into a cup and use that. After calibration, discard the used solution and never pour it back into the bottle.
- - Never touch the electrode if possible, especially not with your fingers. To clean it, use only a soft cloth without scrubbing.
- - For storage, always use a special pH‑meter storage solution.
