Brown Malt - Simpsons Malt

Brown malt :

Brown Malt", from the English malt house Simpsons, is a very lightly roasted malt. It's a kind of Maris Otter which, after undergoing standard malting, passes through the manufacturer's roasting column. This thorough roasting, albeit light for a roasted malt, gives "Brown Malt" light cocoa/coffee notes, a touch of caramel, a nice biscuity taste and toasted hazelnut.

The flavors of brown malt, combined with its light brown color, will blend perfectly with dark English ales or any other beer where you want to add a hint of hazelnut or a malty (or colorful) boost. It is generally used at a level of 10%.
