Description
Carafa® special I malt is carefully roasted. It adds a coffee-brown color (800 to 1000 EBC), dark chocolate/cocoa aromas, and body to the finished beer.
Softer than Carafa® special II and III, it will bring a nice dark color and a pronounced but light roasting to your beers. It will be ideal in dark beers where mild roasted aromas are desired. It can also be combined with other dark malts to accentuate cocoa flavors more than coffee aromas.
It can be used up to 5%.
