BrewLine HIP-HOP Lager:
Hip-Hop Lager is a versatile yeast, ideal for simplifying and streamlining brewery production.
Originally developed for Lagers, it offers a perfect balance between esters and higher alcohols. Its wide temperature tolerance also makes it suitable for Ales fermented at temperatures above 20°C.
Its neutral profile and broad fermentation range allow for the creation of a wide array of beer styles:
-
12 to 15°C: smooth, neutral-profile beers, perfect for German-style lagers.
-
15 to 17°C: ideal for Altbier, Kölsch, and Steam Beer.
-
18 to 22°C: suitable for cold-hopped beers like IPA and NEIPA.
Whether kegged (which it handles well during fermentation) or bottle-conditioned, it retains its neutral character.
Characteristics:
- - Flocculation / Sedimentation: High
- - Final attenuation (10–16°C): 72 – 75%
- - Final attenuation (20–24°C): 80 – 85%
- - Alcohol tolerance: 8.5%
- - Diacetyl production: Low
- - Fermentation kinetics: Fast (4 to 7 days*)
- - Recommended dosage: 80 – 120 g/hL
They adopted Hip-Hop Lager:
"We use the Hip-Hop Lager strain from Brewline for one of our core beers at Brique House.
It kicks off quickly, with stable fermentation kinetics and good attenuation. Its very neutral profile really highlights our raw ingredients.
It’s a versatile strain, consistently reliable from batch to batch. It tolerates repitching well and remains stable across multiple generations—a real plus in production.
For the price, it offers excellent quality-to-performance value. We’ve clearly made it our go-to yeast."Corentin Maia – Brewer at Brique House Brewery
"Hip-Hop is the ideal compromise between clean and fast fermentation! I use it on my pils; it ferments in just a few days (5/6) at high temperatures (22°C for me) for a crisp and off-flavour-free result. It really lets the malty base and light hop character shine."Sonny Tarbouriech – Founder and brewer at Tarbrew
"We use Hip-Hop Lager on limited releases: harvest beer and dark lager. It’s a yeast that gives space to other ingredients. In my opinion, it’s a strain for those who appreciate well-crafted beers."Thomas Roels – Brewer at Brasserie Moulins d'Ascq
