Barbe Rouge Organic Hops:
Barbe Rouge Organic hops, an aromatic French variety, stand out for their unique sensory profile. Developed through a breeding program in Alsace, Barbe Rouge Organic is a direct descendant of Strisselspalt.
Available here in 5 kg pellet format, Barbe Rouge Organic hops are appreciated for their fine and moderate bitterness, as well as their fruity, spicy, herbal and subtly citrusy aromas. When used at the end of the boil, in whirlpool or dry hopping, they reveal notes of red fruits, kumquat, orange, lime, redcurrant, strawberry and raspberry.
Barbe Rouge Organic is commonly used in brewing Belgian-style beers such as ales, bière de garde and saisons, as well as blonde lagers, pale ales, pilsners, weissbiers and wheat ales. Bold brewers may even try it in an India Pale Lager.
