Centennial Yakima Chief Hops:
Centennial is one of the cornerstones of the American craft beer movement. Bred in 1974 and released by Washington State University in 1990, Centennial is an aroma-type cultivar that has become one of the most popular varieties in the craft beer scene.
It is often referred to as "Super-Cascade" (containing nearly double the alpha content) and can be used for bittering purposes. Centennial is a diploid cross between Brewer's Gold and a USDA male.
Yakima Chief Hops' Centennial hops are described as citrusy, spicy, with very delicate floral and herbal notes.
Their composition makes them ideal for use in late boil, whirlpool, and primary fermentation dry hopping.
