Maris Otter

Maris Otter is the English base malt par excellence. Developed in the 60s at Cambridge's prestigious Plant Breeding Institute, the degree of cooking and intrinsic aromatic properties of the barley variety used make it a versatile base malt full of flavor.

Used at 100%, it gives a lovely blond color to the beer. It also has a rich malty aroma, with notes of baked bread and a slight toffee touch, typical of English malts.

Combining an ideal protein content with excellent filtration capacity, Maris Otter will produce clear beers topped with a beautiful white head.
