Spalter Select was developed by the Hop Research Center in Hüll. It was approved in 1993 and used as an aromatic variety.

Spalter Select delivers spicy aromas and has a high farnesene content.

In Germany, it is considered a classic hop for lager beers.

Its aromatic profile is mainly composed of spicy notes, but it can also present fruity and floral touches.

Its alpha-to-beta acid ratio of 1 is perfect for maintaining a stable bitterness and hop profile in beer.

The 1kg format is ideal for brewpubs and small microbrewery brewing rooms.
