Description
SPECTRUM is an innovative and high-performance liquid hop extract. No oxidation, no Hop Creep, no beer loss, and excellent storage stability.
Fully soluble, it faithfully reproduces the aromatic profiles typical of its original hop variety.
Made exclusively from hops (100%), with no solvents or artificial additives, it provides an effective alternative to T90 pellets:
- 1 kg of Spectrum equals 5 to 8 kg of pellets.
Free of vegetal matter, Spectrum leaves no solid residue in the fermenter — which significantly reduces cleaning requirements.
Its formulation ensures outstanding aroma stability: the glycosidic fractions of the hop are fully preserved, supporting the expected biotransformation reactions during dry hopping.
Its optimal use is during Dry Hop, in the secondary fermentation phase.
Note: the 1 kg format is resealable, making it ideal for extended storage.

Spectrum Cascade
Cascade hops are an iconic variety of the American craft beer movement and rank among the most popular hops in artisanal brewing.
Originating from the USDA-ARA breeding program, Cascade is an aromatic cultivar developed in 1956 and released in 1972. It resulted from open pollination of a Fuggle plant.
The Spectrum version of Cascade stands out with its unique aroma profile, combining floral, spicy, and citrus notes.

Spectrum: The Dry Hop Revolution
Get all the alpha acids and aromatic compounds of hops — without the vegetal matter. Maximum efficiency and guaranteed yield…
SPECTRUM offers numerous advantages over traditional hop cones and pellets.
Fully soluble at fermentation temperature, it means you’ll lose no beer and spend less time cleaning.
SPECTRUM can fully or partially replace cones and pellets during Dry Hop.
Using Spectrum:

1kg of Spectrum = between 5kg and 8kg of pellets.
It’s absolutely possible to use Spectrum at 100%.
However, if you're repeating well-calibrated recipes, Barth Haas recommends testing and using 20% to 50% of your Dry Hop with standard hops, based on the conversion ratio above to fine-tune your dosage.
You can gradually work your way toward 100% usage.
As shown in the chart above, the ideal point to use Spectrum is during secondary fermentation. The earlier you add it, the higher the dose required — resulting in more pronounced fruity aromas. The later it’s added, the lower the dosage — with more “green” hop character coming through.
Note: This product is specifically designed for Dry Hop. Spectrum does not contain iso-alpha acids but does contain non-isomerized alpha acids that, in high doses at the end of boil or in the whirlpool, can intensify bitterness — especially in hazy beers where this isn’t desired.
Storage:
Barth Haas recommends storing the product between 2°C and 15°C. A dedicated refrigerator is ideal.
The 1kg format is resealable, and it’s recommended to purge the headspace before closing.
The manufacturer advises using the product within one year of its production date (printed on the pouch).
Additional Benefits of Spectrum:
Brewery tests have shown a drastically reduced risk of Hop Creep compared to using T90 pellets. This is due to the absence of enzymes that can restart fermentation.
The lack of solid matter leaves far fewer residues on your fermenter walls. You’ll use less product and less time cleaning your equipment.
Finally, Spectrum also reduces the risk of oxidation in heavily hopped beers.
Unlike pellets and cones, this product leaves no room for oxygen. Spectrum ensures precise Dry Hop dosing with no oxygen exposure.

Testimonials:
“SPECTRUM helped us increase our dry hop inclusion rates while minimizing beer loss during the process. This combination allows us to craft world-class beers with world-class production efficiency.” — Ross Koenigs / New Belgium Brewing
“We observed lower and more consistent beer loss in the batches we tested. We're very impressed with the aroma profile Spectrum delivers. We used it for up to 50% of the dry hop in one of our beers, which significantly reduced tank time thanks to less hop creep and reduced VDK (Vicinal Diketones) formation.” — SOPHIE DE RONDE / Burnt Mill Brewery
