Description
SPECTRUM is an innovative and efficient liquid hop extract. No oxidation, no Hop Creep, no beer loss, and excellent storage convenience.
Fully soluble, it faithfully reproduces the aromatic profiles characteristic of its original hop variety.
Made from 100% hops, without solvents or artificial additives, it offers a reliable alternative to T90 pellets:
- 1 kg of Spectrum equals 5 to 8 kg of pellets.
Free of vegetal material, Spectrum leaves no solid residue in the fermenter — significantly reducing cleaning requirements.
Its formulation ensures outstanding aromatic stability: the hop’s glycosidic fractions are fully retained, enabling the biotransformation reactions expected during dry hopping.
Its ideal application is during Dry Hop, in the secondary fermentation phase.
Note: the 1 kg format is resealable, making it perfect for extended storage.

Spectrum El Dorado
El Dorado is an aromatic hop variety developed by CLS in 2008 and released commercially in the United States in 2010.
It’s prized for its smooth, balanced bitterness and vibrant aroma profile. Used in whirlpool or dry hop, it reveals bold notes of tropical fruit, pear, watermelon, candy, and stone fruit. The Spectrum version faithfully reproduces this aromatic richness — without any vegetal matter.

Spectrum: The Dry Hop Revolution
Capture all alpha acids and aromatic compounds from hops — without any plant material. Maximum efficiency and guaranteed yield…
SPECTRUM offers many advantages compared to cones and pellets.
Fully soluble at fermentation temperature, you’ll lose no beer and spend less time cleaning.
SPECTRUM can fully or partially replace cones and pellets during the Dry Hop.
Using Spectrum:

1kg of Spectrum = between 5 and 8kg of pellets.
It’s absolutely possible to use Spectrum at 100%.
However, if you’re repeating well-calibrated recipes, Barth Haas recommends running trials and using 20% to 50% of your Dry Hop with standard hop formats, adjusting your dosage according to the ratio shown above.
You can gradually move toward full Spectrum usage.
As shown in the graph above, the ideal time to use Spectrum is during secondary fermentation. The earlier you add it, the higher the dosage and the more intense the fruity aromas. The later you add it, the lower the dosage and the more prominent the “green” hop notes will be.
Note: This product is specifically designed for Dry Hop. Spectrum does not contain iso-alpha acids, but it does contain non-isomerized alpha acids that, in high doses at the end of boil or in the whirlpool, can increase bitterness — especially in hazy beers where this is not desirable.
Storage:
Barth Haas recommends storing the product between 2°C and 15°C. A dedicated refrigerator is ideal.
The 1kg format is resealable; purging the headspace before sealing is advised.
The manufacturer recommends using the product within one year of its production date (printed on the pouch).
Additional Benefits of Spectrum:
Brewery testing has shown a drastically reduced risk of Hop Creep compared to using T90 pellets. This is thanks to the absence of fermentation-reactivating enzymes.
With no solid matter, you’ll have fewer residues on the fermenter walls — meaning less product and less time spent cleaning your equipment.
Finally, Spectrum also reduces oxidation risk in heavily hopped beers.
Unlike pellets and cones, this product allows no room for oxygen. Spectrum ensures precise Dry Hop dosing without oxygen exposure.

Testimonials:
“SPECTRUM helped us increase our dry hop inclusion rates while minimizing beer loss during the process. This combination allows us to produce world-class beers with world-class brewing efficiency.” — Ross Koenigs / New Belgium Brewing
“We saw a lower and more consistent loss rate in the beers we tested. We’re very impressed by the aroma profile offered by Spectrum. We used it in up to 50% of the dry hop in one of our beers, significantly reducing tank time thanks to reduced hop creep and less VDK (Vicinal Diketones).” — SOPHIE DE RONDE / Burnt Mill Brewery
