Description
Designed by Arobois, a specialist in oenological wood since 1997, these chips come from barrels that previously contained Bourbon. The wood, infused with the aromas of barrel aging, is then processed and toasted in France using controlled and rigorous methods.
Brew’Oak Sweet Bourbon oak chips offer a warm, deep and generous aromatic expression. They bring roundness, smoothness and complexity to beers, with a woody signature strongly influenced by Bourbon.
The Sweet recipe develops intense notes of vanilla, coffee and roasted aromas. They can be used on their own or combined with standard American oak chips or French oak to enrich the aromatic palette and create more nuanced profiles.

Recommended dosage:
- - 2.5 g/L: subtle complexity, gentle integration of bourbon notes
- - 4 g/L: balanced dosage, clear aromatic expression
- - 6 to 8 g/L: pronounced woody and bourbon character, strong impact on bouquet and structure
As with any oenological product, the best guide remains regular tasting. Adjust the dosage according to contact time and the aromatic evolution you are aiming for.
Possible addition phases:
- - End of boil
- - End of primary fermentation
- - During conditioning
Contact time:
With the dosages above, three weeks are generally enough for balanced extraction. However, there is no strict rule: exposure time may vary from a few days to several months depending on the desired intensity.
Styles particularly suited to Brew’Oak Sweet Bourbon chips:
