Description
Named after its appearance rather than its function, the Hop Bong is a versatile tri-clamp accessory that can be pressurised for dry hopping and for adding oxygen‑purged hops into fermenters.
It can also be used as an inline carbonation or oxygenation tool.
Made from Nylon 12: an autoclavable engineering plastic that is extremely robust and chemically resistant.
This tri-clamp Hop Bong model is designed to fit fermenters equipped with a 1.5" Tri‑Clamp port on the lid.
It is also equipped with a neck compatible with PET bottle caps. You can connect a Ball Lock fitting with male PCO 1881 thread.

Build Your Own Hop Bong
If you have a 1.5" tri‑clamp port located on the top of your fermenter, attach a 1.5" butterfly valve (don’t forget the 1.5" gaskets and clamps).
On the valve, simply connect the Hop Bong tube (with the appropriate gasket and clamp, of course).
At the PET bottle neck fitting, screw in a Ball Lock connector with PCO 1881 threading.
On the upper end of the tube, attach a TC1.5" to PET bottle thread reducer (+ gasket and 1.5" clamp).
Screw onto the reducer a onto which you will install a 15 PSI stainless steel PRV valve.

Of course, there are other ways to adapt this Hop Bong to different Tri‑Clamp sizes; you will simply need to add reducers of the appropriate dimensions.
