K9 EBBEGARDEN 7G - Kveik Yeastery

€5.59

This Kveik strain produces incredible tropical fruit esters. The intensity will be pronounced at high fermentation temperatures and lower at cooler temperatures. Ebbegarden is therefore perfectly perfect in tropical IPAs/DIPAs/NEIPAs, fruity Sours (with mango/passion fruit or others), or a good sour IPA!

The fruity intensity will be moderately high at elevated fermentation temperatures. At lower temperatures, it will be less intense.

The higher the chosen temperature range, the faster the fermentation. At 38°C it can ferment in 48 hours. This strain is certified organic.

The history of Kveik Ebbergarden K.9

This strain of Kveik comes from the Ebbegarden farm in Stordal, Norway. This farm has always produced fruit. It's a safe bet that this is the source of their yeast's expressive fruitiness.

Around 1100, the region's mild climate prompted many Vikings to settle down to fish and farm in Stordal. Beer was an integral part of the celebrations that punctuated medieval life at the time. Local farmers, fishermen and cultivators made their own beer for these collective gatherings. Kveik Ebbergarden, produced today by Kveik Yeastery, is descended from this tradition.
