Brew our "Stout O'Malley" recipe: Irish Extra Stout

Do you know the legendary Irish pirate queen Grace O’Malley? Nearly half a millennium ago, a beautiful young girl with long red hair, dreaming of following in her father's footsteps to become a pirate, was unfortunately forbidden from sailing the seas. The reason? Her long hair... When Grace's father returned from an expedition, the young girl had cut her hair in order to join the crew. These were the first steps of a future pirate queen !

Although the recipe was created for preparing for St. Patrick's Day, it will be perfect all year round. This beer with a distinctly marked taste is extremely refreshing and allows you to enjoy pint after pint...

The idea is to have a rather round and full-bodied attack, hence the use of a high percentage of barley flakes. In contrast to this slightly biscuity roundness, you will find a very dry and refreshing finish provided by the bitterness of the hops. This dry and slightly bitter finish will beautifully highlight the marked coffee flavors of the roasted barley. This beer, at 5.6% ABV, is openly inspired by Guinness Original, and you will find all the hallmarks of the "Irish Extra Stout" style here.

The pack includes the malt, hops, and yeast needed to make the recipe, for a 20-liter batch.

Single-step mashing

Due to the high percentage of barley flakes, you can integrate about a hundred grams of rice hulls (not included in this pack).
