Chinook Hops:
.png)
The Chinook hops was created by the USDA breeding program in the state of Washington. It was released in 1985 at the very beginning of the American craft beer movement, of which it is a great aromatic marker. This high alpha acid hop is named after a Native American tribe indigenous to the Washington region. This variety grows vigorously in all areas of the world.
While it was originally used as a bittering hop, Chinook will reveal citrus aromas, a good resinous side (typical of old school American pale ales), and a slight spicy touch.
