target hops

The Target hop is a versatile hop from the United Kingdom. It was developed in 1992 by the Wye College of Agriculture. It is a hybrid of Northern Brewer and Eastwell Golding hops. It is also related to the Challenger hop, despite aromatic differences.

The Target hop provides strong bitterness and aromas of plants, flowers, with earthy and lemon notes. As a bittering hop, it ensures good foam persistence and beer stability. As an aromatic hop, it releases notes of sage, rosemary, and resin.

It is frequently used in British beers, such as bitters, pale ales, porters, stouts, and Irish red ales. It can also be adapted to lagers or saisons.
