Mosaic Hops :

The mosaic hops are a dual-purpose hop variety originating from the United States. They were created in 2012 by the Hop Breeding Company. They are the result of a cross between the Nugget and Simcoe hops. When they came out, brewers jokingly called them "Citra on steroids".

The mosaic hops bring a moderate bitterness. They have a high alpha acid content but low levels of cohumulone. This characteristic gives the beer pleasantly hoppy flavors. It will present strong aromas of mango, pine and citrus with floral and herbal notes. Used in Dry Hop the mosaic hops will mainly bring notes of tropical fruits, citrus, berries and a resinous touch.

They are often used for American-style beers, such as IPAs (with all their variations), pale ales or tropical stouts. They can also suit European-style beers, such as hoppy lagers and saisons.
