Willamette Hops :

willamette hops

The Willamette hops are an aromatic hop variety originating from the United States. They were selected in Oregon in 1967 and marketed in 1971, from the English variety Fuggles and its tetraploid version.

The Willamette hops provide a moderate bitterness and complex aromas, spicy, herbal, floral and fruity. Used at the end of boiling, in whirlpool or in Dry Hop, they reveal notes of flowers, incense and elderberries. They are often used for beers of English or American style, such as ales, pale ales, brown ales and porters. They are one of the most used hops in the history of American craft beer.
