The Hersbrucker hops is an aromatic variety that comes from Germany. It was initially developed to resist verticillium wilt and replace Hallertau Mittelfrüh.

The Hersbrucker hops gives a mild bitterness. It has a low alpha acid content and little cohumulone. This characteristic gives the beer pleasant hoppy aromas. It will reveal clear scents of hay, tobacco, and orange, with also floral and spicy notes.

It is frequently used for German-style beers, such as Dunkel, Pilsner, Altbier or Hefeweizen.
