houblon chinook cône

Chinook hops were created by the USDA development program in Washington State. It was released in 1985, at the very beginning of the American craft beer movement, and is a major aroma marker. This high alpha acid hop takes its name from a Native American tribe indigenous to the Washington region. This variety grows vigorously in all parts of the world.

Originally used as a bittering hop, Chinook will reveal citrus aromas, a good resinous edge (typical of old-school American pale ale) and a light spicy touch.
