Caramel 250 malt is an intensely aromatic malt. Thanks to its advanced caramelization and a color ranging between 230 and 270 EBC, it features a deep brown hue and an array of rich and nuanced flavors.
This malt reveals pronounced aromas of brown caramel, bread crust, raisins, and dried fruits, enhanced by a subtle hint of roasted hazelnut and sweet malt. It also delivers a strong caramel flavor and a slight toasted bread note, enriching the aromatic profile with great complexity.
Perfect for robust recipes such as Doppelbock, Eisbock, or Quadrupel, it can be used at levels of up to 10%. In small quantities, it is also ideal as a "spice malt" to add a caramel touch and aromatic complexity to lighter beers, such as Ordinary Bitter or Irish Red Ales.
Beyond its aromas, Caramel 250 contributes to a velvety and rounded texture, making beers both rich and well-balanced.
