Kit for adapting the Nukatap 3/8" counter-pressure filler

Description

Ultimate Nukatap counterpressure filler

The Nukatap filler has been designed to facilitate counter-pressure bottling. It has all the advantages of a conventional filler, but is much smaller, practical and easy to use. Please visit our product page to find out more.

This filler comes with 5/16" fittings. This is by no means a bad thing, but many pressure fermentation (and counter-pressure bottling) systems are 3/8".

What's more, if you're bottling from your fermenter (which you probably are), you'll need to get a 5/16" ball lock compensator fitting. This fitting has many advantages over other systems, but we find that for back-pressure bottling, the knob is not very practical for turning the beer supply on or off. An on/off valve is much more practical.

That's why we've chosen to simplify the use of the Nukatap by adapting it to 3/8", and supplying a John Guest stopcock. The valve of this stopcock limits the amount of manipulation and makes it much easier to switch the beer supply on and off. While the size of the Nukatap makes it extremely convenient to use, our shut-off valve makes it even simpler.

With this package, the Nukatap is ready for back-pressure bottling without the need for additional equipment.

Assembly and special features :

The Nukatap filler is supplied complete with its basic equipment (5/16" fittings, etc.). To use it in 3/8", you'll need to remove it from its box and unscrew the 2 duotight fittings in place by default. These are to be replaced by the two John Guest 3/8" to BSP 1/4 straight connectors supplied in our pack.

You'll need to cut 5 or 6cm off the 3m of John Guest 3/8" tubing in the kit (you can use the remainder as needed to build up your gas/beer lines). The small piece of pipe will be used to connect the straight end of the beer line to the John Guest stopcock.

Your system should look like the following image :

Then simply connect the filler to the Co2 and fermenter, and proceed with counter-pressure bottling.
