Regal Lager Yeast Blend

Discover the unique blend of traditional and modern Pilsner yeast cultures.

REGAL Lager Yeast Blend is the first fast-fermenting, all-purpose lager yeast blend. Crisp enough to produce authentic pilsners, it's also highly aromatic, ideal for creating stunning bocks, dunkels and schwarzbiers.

Using REGAL Lager is simple. Bootleg Biology recommends cold inoculation for a few days (10°C) and heating the beer up to 35°C! In this way, your beer can be ready in a week.

Small amounts of sulphur may be present depending on the temperature at which the beer is sown (the warmer it is, the more there will be). That said, this may be exactly what you need if you want your lager to taste deliciously authentic. It's up to you to have fun with the fermentation temperature!

Practical information:

  • Type : Blend of lager yeasts; Saccharomyces cultures (non-STA1).
  • Inoculation rate : Directly injectable into 20 litres of 1.050 wort or less. We still recommend a small starter.
  • Estimated attenuation: 80-87%.
  • Estimated final pH: 4.2-4.5
  • Aroma profile: Clean, rich in malt
  • Flocculation: Medium
  • Recommended fermentation temperature: 10°C to 35°C.

Bootleg Biology's advice:

Seed and ferment at between 10 and 13°C for 72 hours, then increase the temperature from 29 to 35°C for 48h-72h. Colder temperatures for longer periods will increase fermentation time. Inoculation at warmer temperatures can increase sulphur production.
