NEEPAH Blend

Unique blend of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cultures. NEEPAH Blend™ helped Five Boroughs Brewing win a medal in Session IPA (World Beer Cup 2022).

According to Bootleg Biology: "NEEPAH IPA Blend is our secret weapon for delivering the juiciest tropical fruit bomb you've ever brewed. Carefully cultivated from a special blend of fruity yeast strains, NEEPAH Blend is here to amplify the beautiful rainbow of flavours in your New England-style IPAs by giving them an extra kick. This blend emphasises the fruity hop character and reduces the perception of bitterness in dry ales."

Practical information:

  • Type : Brewer's yeast blend. S. cerevisiae.
  • Inoculation rate : Directly injectable into 20 litres of wort at 1.050 or less. We still recommend a small starter.
  • Estimated attenuation: 75-82%; attenuation will increase with higher fermentation temperatures or successive repitching.
  • Estimated final pH: 4.1-4.4
  • Aroma profile: Abundant citrus and mango; emphasises the juiciness of tropical hops.
  • Flocculation: Low, HAZY
  • Recommended fermentation temperature: 18-22°C; it is recommended to increase the temperature by a few degrees two or three days after inoculation.
