What does an airlock do?

By filling the bubbler with a little water, it acts like a siphon; the water isolates the wine or beer from the outside air. This prevents bacteria from penetrating inside. However, it does allow the carbon dioxide formed during fermentation to escape through the bubbler due to the excess pressure.

Cylindrical bubblers are recommended for kegs with a capacity of 50 liters or more, to be able to handle the largest volume of carbon dioxide.

Water in the bubbler evaporates, so it's essential to check regularly and refill if necessary. If necessary, fill the bubbler with a disinfectant solution instead of ordinary water.
